Gregory Caputo, freelance drummer, specializing in "versatility within traditional drumming styles" (Modern Drummer Magazine) is a graduate of the Hartford Conservatory of Music Jazz and Pop program. Gregory is an inductee into the National Jazz Archives and a National Drum Association "Gene Krupa Search" international finalist.

Tours include Count Basie, Les Brown, Jimmy Dorsey, Benny Goodman, Artie Shaw and Harry James. Performances with Sammy Davis Jr., Cab Calloway, Sheila Jordan, Charlie Ventura and Benny Waters. Classic Drummer magazine describes Greg as "a master drummer who speaks volumes in refined sensibilities and superb technique."

Gregory is a faculty member of Billy Taylor's Jazz In July Workshop at the University of Massachusetts. Mr. Caputo is available for jazz history lectures, drum clinics, guest artist appearances at educational and jazz venues.

GREGORY CAPUTO BIG BAND

We are a professional organization of world class musicians performing a stunning Big Band Show.

Mr. Caputo has produced a Big Band Show, which he calls  VELOCITY highlighting the Big Band Era. He emcees and plays drums with his own 18 piece band. The show performs to sold-out houses and is receiving rave reviews.

The band is also available for ballroom dances, public concerts, fundraisers and private parties.
